Tower Two

Tower Two reduction linocut print

Story

My inspiration for this print comes from my experience working in the industry. During the summer, the mountain takes on a completely different character, and many people who visit the resort during the winter never get to see it.

The road winding through the print represents the route up the mountain, toward where the summer work begins. Tower Two becomes a familiar landmark along that journey — something you might pass every morning on your way up to another day of work on the hill.

I wanted to capture that quieter, working side of the mountain: the towers, the trees, the trail, and the landscape that exists behind the winter resort experience.

The Place Behind the Print

These photographs were taken during summer outings on Baldy Mountain. They show the mountain landscape, wildflowers, and trails that form the setting behind Tower Two.
